Welcome to Cultural Anthropology

This guide is designed to assist Illinois Central College students in finding information about cultural anthropology.

Fascinating information on this topic is found in a wide variety of sources.  You are invited to explore them all!

The broader topic of anthropology includes the study of all humans throughout the world and history.  Anthropology is often subdivided into four major areas:  physical (or biological), cultural, linguistic, and archaeology.  This guide will offer references including all of these aspects of anthropology, with an emphasis upon cultural anthropology.

Cultural anthropology includes the study of various cultures, their languages, economic systems, kinship and  family pattterns, religions, ethnicity, class systems, political structures and similar topics.
